We invited our Parents to come and see how we learn to read in Nursery. Our story of the week was 'The Gingerbread Man.' We worked with our parents to take part in a range of activities based around the story.
We designed our own gingerbread men using a variety of collage materials.
We made our own character puppets so that we could role play the story at home.
Can you place the correct number of buttons on the gingerbread man by looking at the number he has on him?
Our parents helped us to paint a gingerbread man
We made our own gingerbread men out of play dough. We added eyes and buttons.
"I have 2 gingerbread men."
We also tasted gingerbread men and made our own gingerbread man books to take home.
Parents enjoyed seeing how much of our Early Years Curriculum we can cover just through one story.
At the end of the week the Gingerbread man came to visit Nursery. We had lots of fun trying to catch the gingerbread man as he ran across school. The children enjoyed being the different characters from the story.
We look forward to seeing parents join us for our 'Stay and Read a story' sessions every Friday.
